Shortly after the Browns left Cleveland and shortly before Ray Lewis was arrested on a murder charge, the Ravens linebacker notched his first sack.

Normally these sorts of things are memorable to the sacker and really no one else, I assume.

However, the first in the illustrious career of the Maniac Manslaughterer from Miami U has become quite a story in its own right.

Back in 1996, the newly created Ravens were playing against the relatively newly created Indianapolis Colts. The Colts being the old Ravens. The Ravens being the old Browns.

Confusing team thievery.

Anyways, the Colts of Indy were quarterbacked by a cat named Jim Harbaugh.

The same Jim Harbaugh coaching the 9er’s against Rampage Ray’s Ravens in the Super Bowl.

In that most likely meaningless game, Life-ender Lewis ends up sacking the elder Harbaugh.

Check it out:

So, if the Ravens manage to pull this one out (which I think they will, 27-24) it’d be a pretty neat story. Start with a sack of Harbaugh, end with sacking Harbaugh’s team.

A fitting bookend to the Ray Lewis story.
