With a 3D printer you can be as cool as this guy… (from Forbes)
It’s here.
Finally.
The day we’ve all been waiting for.
By ‘we’ I more or less mean 2nd amendment enthusiast.
Oh, you (very selective) lovers of (very selective) freedom are in for a whopper of treat.
At long last someone was able to successfully shoot a gun created by a 3-D printer!
AMERICA. WE TOTALLY FUCKING DID IT.
This gem of modern printing tech was created in the very place baby Jesus was said to have given America the gift of freedom; The Sovereign Unalienable God Given Republic Of Big Free Constitution Texas.
Naturally.
The Liberator, as it’s unironically called because freedom from government tyranny or something*, was devised by a true maverick from the heart of Freedomland (Texas) named Cody Wilson.
It took the patriot of printing a mere 8 months to create the firearm, which contains only 16 parts, 15 of which were made in the $8,000 printer. The other piece? A nail from a hardware store that functions as the firing pin.
And the bullets? Those aren’t plastic.
There’s technically one more thing that Wilson put into his printed piece which makes it legal, a 6 ounce chunk of metal so it sets off metal detectors (this is the part criminals and the seedy underbelly would ‘forget’).
In an interview Wilson acknowledges, ‘I recognize that this tool might be used to harm people, that’s what it is, it’s a gun. But I don’t think that’s a reason to not do it or a reason to not put it out there.’
…I…yea, I just, I can’t…whatever, moving on.
Now it is true that violence in Murka has been in decline for some time now, decades really, but we still have around 30,000 people dying yearly from guns. Dying not from assault style weapons like politicians and Piers Morgan flap gums about banning, but from handguns.
Assault rifles are a red herring, a dog and pony show, in the whole gun debate really. Just look at Chicago. It’s handguns and those aren’t going away.
Harmful or not, the plans for this printable firearm are available online because this is America and as our Founders said, the right to bear print arms shall not be infringed. Ever. At all. Regardless of anything. Ever. Till The end of time. Forever. Amen.
That said, a ban is already in the works because there’s no better deterrent to crime than laws.

Here’s a super well made video the gun makers put together:
*Sarcasm aside, it’s named Liberator after the guns Allies dropped over Nazi occupied France during WWII.
